Hail the Harvest Moon…

September 9, 2014

_DSC7041Moonlight through high branches.

All poets say there is more to it,

than moonlight through high branches.

But me, what do I “know” about moonlight?

Sometimes I’m under those branches, calling a lost cat,

or, in the house across the road, scribbling.

The moon shines, that’s moonlight for you.

And my neighbour is out in his car again, gunning the motor.

I hope most of you got out tonight to see the harvest moon. Due to its orbit it is to be 14% larger and 30% brighter than usual. Here in Halifax it started out magnificently, but has since slipped behind the clouds (hence the old photo).

May you have more luck.
