March fog on the Atlantic coast…

March 12, 2013

In the heavy fog of an Atlantic eve

the trees drip heavy like rain,

and the cats gather under stairwells

to watch the people scurry past,

grimness pulling at their collars.

A night full of ghosts and phantoms,

and omniscient fog horns deep and thick from the harbour

moan – “not here” – with the deep voice of God.
