trade marking “Pussy Riot”

November 19, 2012

There is never a missed opportunity in capitalism. If there is money to be made – there is a product to be invented.

Pussy Riot – the female protest band in Russia, that gained international acclaim and two years jail time for standing up to the Putin government is now seeing people making money off their name.

And where is their revolutionary act ending up? Like all good causes – on the front of a tee-shirt.

Madonna, Bjork and other musicians are hawking shirts for the cause. They say all proceeds are going to Pussy Riots’ legal fees. But other entrepreneurs are not so high-minded.

Tee-shirt makers across the world have jumped on the Pussy Riot meal-ticket.

Can’t wait to get myself one. What better way for a North American to participate in the great events of the world, then to wear a tee-shirt that says “I care”.

It’ll make me hot with the chicks at the local cafe.
