Bill C-309

November 5, 2012

So, it’s bad enough that the Harper conservatives wants to ram Bill C-30 down our throats (which will allow for total surveillance of Canadians – no warrant required), they are now about to pass Bill C-309 (which will make it illegal to wear any face covering at a protest. Failure to do so could come with a 5 year imprisonment.

Nova Scotia also wants to be the 1st province to accept out of province warrants in making arrests…

It’s getting kind of hard to keep with all of Harper’s right-wing manipulations: anti-abortion, spying on citizens, “protest” rules, cuts to the environment and fisheries ministries and secret China trade deals…

Wow – I wonder how the people who make these decisions justify their actions? The government not only now has free access (no warrants necessary) to spy on the people – anytime, anywhere, for whatever reason (they do not have to explain themselves) – now they will begin monitoring our very conversations while we sit on the bus.

We are on a crash course back to the totalitarian days of the early 20th century. At this rate, and unless there is some re-direction of ideology, we will be living in a fascist state within a generation.

      I weep for the future…
