Is this to be the most important century in history?

Martin Rees – Astrophysist – discoverer of black holes (proved it mathematically before actually verified) amongst many other things, recent winner of the Templeton Prize, and considered one of the 5 most intellegent people on the planet (and of the 20th century).

He puts the odds of human extinction by 2100 – if we do not alter our ways – at 50%.
